We provide personalized, family, centered care in a home away from home environment. We respect birth as a normal physiologic process and we support clients to make informed decisions. Our midwives are trained to manage emergencies and are certified in basic, neonatal, and advanced cardiac life support. Our midwives also have privileges at William Newton Memorial Hospital and South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center if you prefer a hospital birth or if transfer of care from the birth center becomes appropriate, women desire an epidural, or need a caesarean section. From the very first appointment, women have the option to choose a birth center birth (if low risk and meet criteria) or a midwife attended birth at one of our hospital partner sites (WNMH or SCKRMC). We offer trial of labor after c-section in most cases at William Newton Hospital only. We do not offer VBAC at the birth center.
